Three days after the sales of the K70 Ultra began, the flagship phone of the Redmi brand from Xiaomi published a poster announcing that the phone has broken its sales record for three days, at least for 2024. The company did not specify how many units have been sold for each model of the device, but it is likely very pleased.

The Redmi K70 Ultra is equipped with a 6.67-inch LTPS OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. According to the company, the brightness reaches up to 4,000 nits. It is powered by the MediaTek +Dimensity 9300 processor and comes with a dedicated graphics chip named D1. It features a 5,500 mAh battery with 120-watt charging.

The camera system consists of a 20-megapixel selfie camera, a main rear camera based on Sony’s 50-megapixel IMX906 sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a standard 2-megapixel macro camera. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor, an infrared sensor, and a frame that meets the IP68 standard. It supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and WiFi 7.

The K70 Ultra was launched in several versions. The price for the 12/256 GB version is about $360. The 12/512 GB version costs about $400, and there is a jump to $440 for the 16/512 GB version, with another jump to $495 for the version that offers 16 GB of memory along with 1 TB of storage. There is also a Lamborghini version that comes with 24 GB of RAM and costs about $550.

Xiaomi never globally launches the Redmi U series under that name, but rather under a different one. It is expected that this will happen in the coming months, this time under the name Xiaomi 14T Pro, meaning as one of the company’s flagship phones – but a step down. Another expectation already heard is that the company may add support for automatic charging to the device before its global launch.
