Redmi Note 12 Pro with OIS camera to launch in India on January 5, Redmi confirms

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 Pro series smartphone in China on October 28. The same phone was expected to launch in India as well, with some variations. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 12 Pro will be launched in India on January 5. Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has also been officially confirmed with a 200-megapixel camera.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro smartphone has a primary camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) technology. It captures videos and still photos with motion correction and stability. Also, expect a larger 6.67-inch OLED display on the Redmi Note 12 Pro smartphone with 2400×1080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate. The phone display may also feature Dolby Vision technology for better viewing experience.
It comes with MediaTek Demoncity 1080 chipset coupled with 12GB RAM + 256GB memory. There may be a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging.
At the same time, 200W fast charging is expected on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus smartphone. The main difference between the Pro and Pro Plus models will be the camera. The Redmi Note 12 Pro may come with a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera at the rear. The front panel is expected to feature a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro phone has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Android 12 based MIUI 13 and NFC. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model has been priced at CNY 1699 (approx. Rs. 19,300) in China. Similarly, the 12GB RAM smartphone is priced at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 24,900). No details on Indian prices are available yet. However, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is expected to cost up to Rs.30,000.
