Al-Marsad newspaper: Medical expert, Lauren Manaker, revealed that the best protein for heart health is “beans”.

“Not only do these plant-based protein foods provide a great deal of protein, but they also provide fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can support heart health,” Manaker explained.

The researchers stated, that participants who ate the most legumes and pulses experienced a 10% reduction in coronary heart disease and 8% cardiovascular disease, according to the “It Zees” website.

Studies have indicated that eating beans helps lower cholesterol, while Manaker stated: “The soluble fiber found in beans can completely prevent the body from absorbing cholesterol.”

The researchers continued, that participants who consumed approximately one serving (3/4 cup) of legumes per day experienced a decrease in low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or “bad” cholesterol, by 5%.
