BUENOS AIRES – A football player hit a female referee during a football match in Argentina. The referee was assaulted during a match between Garmanese and Independencia in a local tournament. German player Christian Tirone punched referee Dalma Cortadi.
During the match, the referee raised a yellow card against Christian Tirone. After this, the player who came behind the referee hit him. Video footage of the incident was also released. The referee was immediately admitted to the hospital. He was released after initial treatment.
