Kolkata: Trinamool Congress leadership has condemned Mahua Moitra MP’s remark about Kali Devi.
“Mahua’s is a personal opinion and the party does not endorse that opinion in any way. Trinamool Congress strongly condemns the remark’, Trinamool Congress tweeted.
Mahua Moitra mentions that Kali in his conception is a carnivorous, alcohol-serving deity and devotees are free to conceive of his goddess as they like.
Mahua was speaking as a guest on the program of India Today. Mahua expressed his opinion in response to a question about the documentary poster that depicted Kalidevi smoking. Mahua Moitra made such a comment in response to the controversy over the poster of the documentary ‘Kali’ directed by Leena Manimekal.
