However, it is considered unlikely that approval will be forthcoming for a recommendation banning the conduct of animals m.
As many as 68 percent of those polled said they would oppose the ban.
Prohibition of testing animals could have a major impact on medical research, government officials say.
Such recommendations have already been rejected three times in Switzerland since 1985.
In this case, the recommendation to restrict advertising of tobacco products is predicted to be accepted.
Sixty-three percent of those polled supported it.
