The political history of our country is rich in illustrious servants of the Republic who, through their dedication, have been able to mark their passage within the institutions. Unfortunately, it is also punctuated by injustices, slander and manipulation, where honest individuals, whose only fault is to serve the general interest, find themselves sidelined because of their loyalty to the Leader. Such is the case of Moussa CISSÉ, former Minister of Economy and Finance.
This man, who knew how to lead the country’s economic affairs with rigor and efficiency despite the political context our country is going through, was caught up in a turmoil orchestrated by obscure forces, who had every interest in bringing him down.
These witch hunts began after his appointment as head of the National Petroleum Company (SONAP). The reforms he courageously carried out were disturbing. His innovative vision and his decisions, sometimes difficult but necessary, were intended to protect the national interest and prepare the country’s economic future. But it seems that these reforms have thwarted well-established interests.
First, just a few days after his appointment to SONAP, Moussa CISSÉ was criticized for an alleged purchase of “poor quality” fuel. His detractors, having failed to sabotage his efforts to import fuel with all the security measures that prevented previous shortages at the pumps, and after being cleared by CRIEF, are seeking to tarnish his honor at all costs.
The relentlessness of some bloggers against the former DG of SONAP describes the nature of the conspiracy that has been cleverly hatched in the shadows since his appointment 5 months ago.
His economic skills, his integrity and his keen sense of responsibility cannot be doubted. Yet he has become the target of a political cabal, a plot whose undercurrents remain to be elucidated.
It is essential that President Mamadi DOUMBOUYA protects his servants and refuses to give in to attempts at destabilization that ultimately weaken the State itself. Justice must not be variable geometry. The dignity of its executives must not be sacrificed in the grip of vengeance by the dark forces that want to sabotage its actions. Didn’t the former Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Yaya SOW and the former DG of FER suffer the same fate? Today, they have once again enjoyed the confidence of the Head of State respectively in the positions of Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic and DG of ANAIM.
I hope that like the latter, the Army Corps General, Mamadi DOUMBOUYA will reopen this case with dexterity in order to restore the honor and dignity of his good “SERVANT” Moussa CISSÉ.
