Refusal to comply near the Pont-Neuf: the police officer responsible for the fatal shots indicted for “intentional homicide”

Were all the bullets fired in self-defense? This is the main question to be answered by the judicial investigation opened this Wednesday by the Paris prosecutor’s office. Three days after the shooting which left two dead and one injured next to the Pont-Neuf, two magistrates have just been seized for “willful violence by a person holding public authority which resulted in death without intention of giving it” and “willful violence with a weapon by a person holding public authority”. The instruction targets the police officer who fired a dozen times at the vehicle, fatally hitting the driver and the front passenger, also wounding a third man who was in the back.
