jpnn.com – The caretaker of Mambaul Maarif Denanyar Jombang, KH Abdussalam Shohib or Gus Salam, responded casually to the issue of the dissolution of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Extraordinary Congress (MLB).
He said that what the kiai did could not be disbanded because freedom of association and expression was protected by the constitution and regulated by law.
“If anyone comes to the MLB event, whether they agree or disagree, or even have the intention of disbanding it, we will invite them to have coffee, have a discussion, and study the Koran,” said Gus Salam in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday (15/9/2024).
Gus Salam explained that the NU MLB would be held based on science and morals, so it would not require special security.
He admitted that he would not stop fighting for the good of NU, Nahdlatul Ulama, and the Indonesian people.
Therefore, said Gus Salam, whatever the challenges and obstacles will be faced.
“All threats, intimidation, violence are never responded to with the same thing, but we respond with gentleness, affection, and wisdom,” he said.
Gus Salam also gave a message to the Ansor Youth Movement (GP), the Multipurpose Ansor Brigade (Banser), and Pagar Nusa.
