Like every Friday, the day of monitoring which regulates i colors of the regions and the lives of citizens.
Doubts about Sardinia and Calabria
Apart from today, no major changes are expected at the Ministry of Health attention to Sardinia to assess whether it still has the safety requirements that allow it to remain in the white band.
The second region that scientists and technicians focus on is Calabria. Based on the new control room monitoring, the region administered by Antonino Spirl could change from orange to red. The unofficial decision and not even a foregone conclusion, but if the Rt index and the data on the health of health facilities leave no way out, from here to tonight the minister Roberto Speranza I will sign the ordinance that will trigger the most severe containment measures from Monday: strong limitations to movement and closure of many shops.
The waiting for Lombardy, Veneto, Lazio, Piedmont: key date on 26 March
For the rest of Italy, the regions that were in the red a week ago have to wait.
It is about Lombardy, Lazio, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Veneto, Marche, Molise, Puglia and Trento.
For these territories the key date is March 26. If in a week the monitoring data show an improvement, the red regions will be able to move into the lower range and many shops and businesses, including hairdressers and beauty centers, could reopen (here the rules in force in the orange and red zones; here the details on the schools).
March 12 Veneto had Rt at 1.28 therefore it could hope to drop below 1.25 and return to orange. Lombardy and Lazio are also hoping. Lombardy had Rt 1.3 (the oscillation between 1.28 and 1.32). Lazio had Rt 1.31 (the fluctuation between 1.27 and 1.36).
On March 15, all the regions in the yellow band switched to the orange band, a color that currently regulates people’s lives in Basilicata, Bolzano, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Calabria, Liguria, Sicily, Umbria and Valle d’Aosta.
Two weeks must elapse from the last order issued by the Minister of Health.
The monitoring of March 19 will therefore serve to provide indications, but the decisive one will arrive on March 26th. If the values are falling there could be the passage of the reds in orange and the reopening of some activities with a new ordinance.
The resumption (possible) on March 29 and closing for Easter
On 29 March in the most virtuous regions all shops, hairdressers, barbershops, beauty centers could reopen
. (Here the list of shops that remain open also in the red zone). It would be five days of recovery before the lockdown decided for Easter.
On 3, 4 and 5 April all of Italy returns to red. The decree expires on 6 April and on the basis of the updated data it will be decided which prohibitions and rules to renew and which to abolish.
