RegioTV De Bilt – Biologicals employee infected with poliovirus

An employee of Bilthoven Biologicals became infected with the polio virus during work. Vaccines are made at the company.

According to health minister Kuipers, the employee has been placed in isolation and is in good health. The risk of further spread is considered very small.

The staff were tested after the polio virus was found in sewage research last month. Earlier, the municipality held an information evening about the repeated incidents. Members of the Biltse city council have regularly asked questions about the infections. Minister Kuipers is now preparing stricter rules, including a permit requirement.
