Nand 12 February 2024, Monday, begins the registration for globaland program “Women in tech”which aims to help close the gender gap in the tech industry by enabling unemployed women and those looking for reskilling to gain basic digital skills.
The program is implemented jointly with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts and Huawei Technologies Bulgaria as part of a tripartite memorandum of cooperation.
The courses will be free of charge and will be held at the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts in a digital classroom specially equipped by Huawei Technologies Bulgaria. In addition to the website, information will also be available at the labor offices.
The first course starts on 9 March 2024. Classes will be held on weekends to meet the needs and commitments of all participants, with groups of up to 10 people to ensure that everyone receives individual attention and care.
The program is supported by female ambassadors who are successful in their roles: Iliana Yotova – Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria; Ivanka Shalapatova – Minister of Labor and Social Policy; Milena Stoicheva – Minister of Innovation and Growth, Prof. Miglena Temelkova – Rector of VUTP, Andreana Atanasova – Chairwoman of the Alliance for the Technological Industry, Zhanet Zaharieva – Chief Advisor of Vivacom; Christina Eskenazi – member of the Board of Directors of AI Cluster Bulgaria; Vanya Ananieva – owner of “Intellect” schools and founder of the charity initiative “Pass on”; Nadezhda Genova – executive director of “Policomp”; Raya Guncheva – director of the public relations department at Huawei Technologies Bulgaria.
Those wishing to enroll on the basic digital skills courses will be able to do so through a special website that will also provide detailed information about the program.
