Registration for domestic Haj pilgrims to begin early: Saudi Arabia with notification

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia is set to start the registration process early for domestic pilgrims who want to participate in next year’s Haj pilgrimage. This was reported by the local media quoting the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. According to reports, registration for the next Hajj pilgrimage will begin in September 2022.

The authorities have decided to do away with the current lottery system of selecting pilgrims and start direct registration. 25 percent of the Haj quota will be reserved for those above 65 years of age. A new package called Economic 2 will also be included as part of the Haj packages. This is a new payment system that facilitates pilgrims to pay the fee in two instalments.
