Entries for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2025
He Zayed Sustainability Awarda badge of excellence in the field of sustainability and humanitarianism, has announced the opening of registrations for 2025. Backed by the Government of the United Arab EmiratesThis award seeks to recognize and support innovative solutions that address crucial challenges in vital areas such as health, food, energy, water and climate action.
The call is open to secondary schools, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and non-profit organizations (NGOs) from different parts of the world. With the goal of encouraging participation and maximizing the impact of sustainable initiatives, the annual fund has increased to $5.9 million, with $1 million going to each winner in the top categories and $150,000 to each of the 6 winning high schools.
Good news for this year’s applicants is that they will be accepting applications in several languages, including Spanish. españolallowing the process to be more accessible.
Categories to participate
- Health: initiatives that help people access accessible healthcare in fields such as maternal health, epidemics, communicable diseases, diseases due to any type of contamination, among others.
- Food: projects that optimize food security and agricultural productivity, such as those that work to increase agricultural productivity and reduce hunger and malnutrition, among others.
- Energy: ventures or actions that provide access to energy and energy efficient solutions.
- Water: initiatives that help people by providing them with access to safe and affordable drinking water.
- Climate Action: improves adaptation and resilience to the effects of climate change.
- Secondary Schools (public or private): projects that demonstrate innovative approaches to address sustainability challenges in one or several areas; These must be led by students and supported by their teachers.
Projects or initiatives in the first five categories must demonstrate that they are improving access to essential services or products in their communities and that they can improve living and working conditions in the long term.

Since its establishment in 2008, the award honors the humanitarian and sustainability legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE.
