It alleges that the arrest of the inspector was due to the tracking of the telephones of the journalists in the Móviles case, declared null and void by the TSJIB and the Constitutional Court.

PALMA, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The lawyer Álvaro Martín, on behalf of the former inspector of the Money Laundering Group José Luis García Reguera, has joined the request for annulment of the entire procedure against the investigators of the Cursach case, previously presented by the lawyer Javier Barinaga, defense of Judge Manuel Penalva and prosecutor Miguel Ángel Subirán.

During his speech, Martín argued for said annulment based on the ruling that declared null the traces of calls and the seizures of the two journalists in the Móviles case.

In this sense, he explained that the interventions of the journalists’ telephones were what led to the determination that, in this case, Reguera was one of the possible perpetrators of these leaks. Therefore, the conclusion was reached that he was arrested after assessing some proceedings that were declared null and void.

Thus, “because of the connection”, he has demanded that the irregularity of the arrest and subsequent proceedings carried out on the inspector after his arrest be declared, which would lead to the issuance of an acquittal.

Among other previous issues, the lawyer has also mentioned the lack of active legitimacy of the private accusations.
