Thus, the number of families benefiting from the 24th edition of this operation, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, increased by 100% compared to the previous year (7,650 families).
This food distribution operation, implemented following the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, concerns 900 families from urban areas (municipality of Sidi Bouothmane) as well as 14,400 families from rural areas.
The beneficiary families in rural areas are distributed between the Caïdats of Ouled Tmim (2,200 families), Skhour Rehamna (2,200 families), Bouchane (2,200 households), Ras El Ain (2,000 families), Lebrikiyine (1,900 families), Bhira (1,334 families), Sidi Bouothmane (1,224 families), Jbilat (676 families) and Loutta (666 families).
A provincial committee, in addition to local committees at the level of each Caïdat, are mobilized to ensure the supply of distribution centers, identify beneficiaries and ensure the distribution of foodstuffs.
To ensure the smooth running of this large-scale operation, the prefecture of the province of Rehamna mobilized all public authorities, as well as the human resources of the provincial delegation of National Aid.
Organized with the financial support of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, this national operation has become over time an annual event aimed at providing help and comfort to the most vulnerable social categories, in particular widows, the elderly and people with disabilities.
The “Ramadan 1444” operation is characterized this year by the increase, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, of the number of beneficiaries, which went from 600,000 households during the previous edition to one million households, established in 83 provinces and prefectures of the Kingdom and of which 77% live in rural areas.
