The qualifying rounds for the finals of the Individual European Championships started this week. Kacper Woryna was among the players competing for promotion to the prestigious series. The alumnus of the Rybnik club will go to distant Daugavpils on Saturday.

It must be admitted that in recent days more has been said about Woryna’s health than sports results. Just before the start of the league season, the speedway rider of Włókniarz suffered a serious fall during the final of the Polish Club Pairs Championship and consequently missed two matches of his team.

Finally got back on track a few days ago. It is true that the first match for PGE Ekstraliga points did not go his way, but the successful elimination of the Individual Polish Championships allows us to believe that the 27-year-old is slowly leaving his health problems behind him.

Despite this, the player himself prefers to be safe. After the competition in Daugavpils, he will go to Wrocław and take part in a meeting with the local Betard Sparta, but it is very likely that he will rest from speedway for a few days afterwards. It is already known that Woryna informed his Swedish club about the release of the inaugural round, which met with the full understanding of the management of Smederna Eskilstuna. Everyone will probably watch how Włókniarz’s speedway rider will endure the two-day mini-marathon, and this weekend can be treated as a test to see how ready he is for regular racing and whether his health is all right.

As for Saturday’s qualifying round for the SEC cycle, the Pole is undoubtedly one of the favourites. Looking at the starting list, it seems that only Oliver Berntzon or Antonio Lindbaeck can thwart his plans. On the other hand, the Latvian track is very specific and often caused problems for competitors who do not race on it every day.

In Częstochowa, they strongly hope that Woryna will be in the top four who will be promoted to the next elimination phase. The presence of the favorite of the Częstochowa audience in the final SEC stake would undoubtedly have a positive impact on the attendance. Of course, it is not excluded that even in the event of a slip, the citizen of Częstochowa will receive a chance from the activists of the series in the form of a wild card, but so far no one is thinking about a green table.
