ABU DHABI – AR Rahman, the waves of mesmerizing music. The Oscar winner and his team prepared an unforgettable musical feast for the packed crowd at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi to mark the end of the Diwali celebrations.

There were film songs, folk and Sufi music in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Arabic. The song along with the dance and practice performances made for a great visual feast. The Etihad Arena was Rahman’s first show in Abu Dhabi. He engaged the audience by interacting and singing along with the packed audience. Even though it was early in the morning, when he asked if he wanted to sing more, the audience burst into a frenzy.

He also sang many Malayalam songs including Patakali Chandichangiri. Benny Dayal, Shweta Mohan, Haricharan and other Malayalees were in the choir. After ending the show by singing Vande Mataram, Rahman said goodbye to those who did not go, assuring them that they will come again. It was also the biggest event held in Abu Dhabi after Covid.
