It’s been a little over three since Gollum was announced by the teams of Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon, and despite the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series, the game’s release has been postponed for several months.
[Mis à jour le 26 juillet 2022 à 14h23] The start of the 2022-2023 school year had to be perfect for fans of the Lord of the Rings universe. Indeed, the masterful work of JRR Tolkien was extended in September with the arrival of a new big-budget television series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and that of a new video game, Gollum. The latter was originally announced in 2019 by Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon, and offered us to discover on September 1, part of the life of Gollum, this sinister character nevertheless emblematic of the Lord of the Rings saga. But unfortunately, Gollum has seen its release postponed for several months, an announcement justified by Daedalic Entertainment on social networks:
“First of all, we would like to thank you for your patience and support. Over the past few years, our teams have worked hard to provide you with a remarkable story set in a breathtaking world filled with magic and wonder. We are committed to delivering a game that lives up to our fans’ expectations, and is worthy of telling the unknown story of Gollum as it was written by JRR Tolkien. However, in an effort to provide you with the best gaming experience possible, we have decided to postpone Gollum’s release date by a few months. We will keep you informed of the exact release date in the coming days. We are happy to share these moments with our passionate community and we look forward to sharing this unique adventure with you.” – Daedalic Entertainment
The release date of the adventures of our dear balding Hobbit is therefore unknown for the moment, as is the duration of the postponement announced by Daedalic Entertainment. We should therefore not be able to take advantage of a 100% Middle-earth return. We will have to settle for the Amazon series which, we hope, will be of good quality. As for an estimate of the release date of Gollum, we can very well imagine an arrival during November / December.
