Muscat: 121 prisoners freed in Oman On the anniversary of the accession of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, a royal decree was issued releasing 121 prisoners. Officials have clarified that those serving prison terms in various cases are being released.

The authorities have issued an official order in this regard.
January 12 will be an official holiday for employees of public sector institutions, other legal institutions and private sector institutions in the country. Earlier, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq had issued an order declaring official holidays in Oman. The Government of Oman has announced public holidays applicable to the public sector as well as the private sector in order numbered 88/2022.
