Two of Britain’s most dangerous terrorists, including a senior al-Qaeda leader who was jailed for life for plotting a mass murder, could be out on the streets in a few months, the Daily Mail reports. He was jailed for life in 2008.

Ranjeeb Ahmed was jailed after he was caught with a terrorist contact list written in invisible ink and a backpack with traces of explosives. Ahmed is Osama Bin Laden’s top European operative, and was the first person to be convicted in Britain for being the leader of a terrorist cell.

Last September, it was reported that Ahmed’s request for parole was denied because he is still dangerous, and he must participate in a year-long deradicalization program.

The 47-year-old terrorist asked the parole board to recommend his release, and the request was rejected. This was his second hearing – and now a third hearing is expected in months and it is possible that he will be released. In August 2022, he first asked to be released from the parole board, but was denied. The Rochdale-born terrorist headed a three-man al-Qaeda cell that planned mass attacks.

Another terrorist who may be released soon is an ISIS member. Aras Mohammed Hamid, 32, was jailed for seven years in 2017. The parole board announced that he is under review, but a date has not yet been set and it is expected to be this year. He was convicted of two offenses of preparation for acts of terrorism.

MP Nigel Mills said: “These are very dangerous terrorists and they must not be released. There are real fears that they will spread their hatred and evil.”
