A warning has been issued by Reliance Jio. Jio has issued this warning regarding fraud in its name. According to the company, people are being cheated in the name of Jio. In such a situation, telecom company Jio has issued a warning for mobile users. According to the company’s statement, such cases of cyber fraud have been identified in which fraudsters are stealing sensitive information by presenting themselves as Jio representatives.
This is how cheaters arrive
- Fraudsters reach you in many ways, including phone calls, messages, WhatsApp chats or emails. In such calls and messages, posing as Jio representatives, they fraudulently ask for PAN card number, Aadhaar card, bank account, credit card and OTP and SIM details. If you do not do this, you are threatened to close your SIM card. Due to this fear, many times people share their personal information.
- Fraudsters ask you to download and install third-party apps and gain access to your personal information from your phone and computer.
- Reliance Jio never asks you to download any third-party apps. Also, Jio never asks you to click on any unknown links via SMS, calls or emails.
How to stay safe from online fraud
- Avoid clicking on suspicious links or attachments.
- Never respond to suspicious emails, messages or calls.
- Do not share your personal information with anyone.
- Provide remote access to steal your personal information on the phone.
- Do not share your 20 digit SIM number with anyone.
- Keep changing passwords and PINs for your apps and online accounts.
- Check bank and card statements regularly.
- Report any suspicious transactions to your bank immediately.
