New Delhi: Amidst the general elections, the government has given relief to the people from inflation. Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder for the second consecutive month. Its price in Delhi is now Rs 1745.50. Earlier it was available for Rs 1764.50. In this way its price has been reduced by Rs 19. Earlier on April 1, it had become cheaper by Rs 30.50. Now a 19 kg cylinder will be available for Rs 1859 in Kolkata, Rs 1698.50 in Mumbai and Rs 1911.00 in Chennai. The reduced prices have come into effect from today. The 19 kg cylinder is also called Halwai cylinder. Its price cut is expected to make eating out and drinking cheaper. However, no change has been made in the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used in homes. For general consumers, its price in Delhi remains Rs 803, while for Ujjwala beneficiaries its price is Rs 603. Earlier, the price of 19 kg cylinder was increased for two consecutive months in February and March. Oil marketing companies had increased its price from Rs 1769.50 to Rs 1795 on March 1. On February 1, it was increased by Rs 14, while on January 1, its price was reduced marginally by Rs 1.50. Along with the 19 kg cylinder, the price of ATF i.e. fuel used in aircraft has also been changed from today. International crude oil prices are seeing a decline in early trading today. Brent crude is down by $0.54 at $87.86. On the other hand, WTI crude is trading at $81.25 with a fall of $0.68.

Ujjwala Yojana
Its price in Delhi for general consumers remains Rs 803, while for Ujjwala beneficiaries its price remains Rs 603. Beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana get subsidy up to 12 LPG cylinders annually. There are about 10.27 crore beneficiaries of this scheme. This scheme was implemented in the year 2016 and its period was ending in March 2024. But the Union Cabinet had decided to extend it till March 31, 2025.
