Religious education is the call of God: Pope Benedict XVI offers prayer service for religious teachers

by time news

Vatican City: Pope Francis has presented a papal prayer commission for religious teachers for the month of December, which celebrates the Nativity of the Church. The pope, who selects a variety of prayer topics each month, handed over the ordinance to the faithful this December with the reminder that “religion is God’s call.”

The pope made the suggestion in a video produced by the Pope’s World Wide Prayer Network Group, which codifies the Papal liturgy, and posted a tweet about it. ‘Let us pray together for the religious teachers who are called to proclaim the word of God. May they become courageous and creative witnesses by the power of the Holy Spirit, ‘the Pope tweeted.

In a video message, the pope reminded that the spiritual ministry of the clergy is a call to God and an apostle. ‘We need good religious teachers who are fellow travelers and teachers. We need people who preach the gospel with life and gentleness, not those who preach silently or through loudspeakers, ‘the pope called in the video.

Being a religious teacher means being a religious guru. But not a religious worker. Evangelism in many dioceses on many continents is basically in the hands of a clergyman. The pope added that he would like to thank the clergy for their dedicated service to the Church.

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network is a community that aims to guide Christians through prayer and action. In 1929, following the Apostolic Prayer Commission, which began at the Jesuit Seminary in France in 1884, they began publishing the Monthly Intercessory Prayer Mission in 1929.
