More than eight months after the disappearance, which led to weeks of searches in the Alps region, French authorities announced this Sunday that they had discovered the remains of Emile Soleil, aged two and a half.
In a statement, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Aix-en-Provence announced that The child’s bones were found this Saturday near the village of Vernetwhere the child had last been seen, in July 2023. Remember that Emile disappeared when he was in the care of his grandparents in this village, which is located in the French Alps region, close to the border with Italy.

According to information from BFMTV television, it was a person walking through the area who alerted the authorities early this Saturday afternoon. Called to the scene, researchers collected the bones and sent them for DNA analysis, which, this Sunday, ended up confirming that they belonged to little Emile.
According to BFMTV, the French police will send specialized resources to the location in order to carry out further searches in the area. The area where the bones were found has been isolated and “deep excavations” will begin, an investigation source told French television.
Meanwhile, Emile’s family was informed this morning about the discovery of Emile’s remains.
