At the age of 63, the star of the film “The Karate Kid” and son of Steve McQueen, Chad McQueen, has passed away.

He died from organ failure at his ranch in Palm Desert, California on Wednesday, confirmed his long-time attorney Chad, Arthur Barens, to TMZ, saying he was “one of a kind and will be missed.”

He passed away while surrounded by his wife Jeanie and his children Chase and Madison, Barens revealed.

Chad suffered an injury years ago that led to the progressive failure of his organs.

Known for his role in the famous franchise, Chad played Dutch in the original 1984 film and reprised his role in the 1986 sequel “The Karate Kid II.”

While there were rumors that he would reprise his role in the Netflix series “Cobra Kai,” his attorney revealed that he was not among the stars in the show’s final season.

He also starred in the 1993 film “Firepower.” When he wasn’t starring in Hollywood films, he participated in various races, such as the Baja 1000 and Motocross. At the age of 12, he won the World Mini Grand Prix.

In a statement to Variety, his family said: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen. His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering dedication to our mother, was truly an example of a life filled with love and devotion.

His passion for racing not only showcased his extraordinary talent but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him.

“He bequeathed to us his passion, knowledge, and dedication, and we will carry on not only his legacy but also that of our grandfather. As a family, we must get through this difficult time and kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his remarkable life,” they emphasized in the announcement.
