Remembering Obi Ndefo: Katie Holmes Pays Tribute to ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Co-Star

by time news

“It was wonderful to work with him, he was so caring and kind.” A touching farewell message from Katie Holmes for the passing of Obi Ndefo, an actor with whom she shared the set of Dawson’s Creek. Ndefo, who played Bodie, Joy’s brother-in-law (Katie Holmes), passed away at the age of 51.

The actor suffered from orthorexia, an eating disorder, and had been living in a wheelchair for years due to a severe accident in 2019 that led to the amputation of his lower limbs. The news of his passing was confirmed by his sister Nkem.
Katie Holmes, the ex-wife of Tom Cruise, wanted to remember him by sharing on her Instagram stories a reel posted by Mary Margaret Humes (Gail Leery in Dawson’s Creek) that collects various photos of Ndefo on the set of the series. “It was wonderful to work with such a kind man,” the actress wrote alongside the video. “My heartfelt condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.” Mary-Margaret Humes also shared a message on social media addressed to Ndefo: “I find it hard to conceive that you have left us dear friend. You have always been and will always be a bright light. What an example of pure love and unfiltered tenacity you have given while facing the challenges of life recently.”
