Renault Plans to Introduce 5 New Models in Indian Automobile Market
Renault has announced its ambitious plan to introduce five new car models in the Indian automobile market over the next three years, with two of them being new generation cars. This is part of the company’s Renalution 2024 initiative, highlighting Renault’s commitment to the Indian market.
The French carmaker considers India as one of the four major hubs for the Renault brand outside of Europe. As part of the initiative, Renault will be making revisions and additions to the Triber, Kaikar, and Kwid ranges, establishing a new customer experience strategy, and revamping the existing car program. Additionally, Renault is set to introduce its new brand identity this year and will feature it on all models from 2025 onwards.
Among the five new launches, Renault has confirmed that the new Triber and Kiger will be included. The Triber, a compact 7-seater model, has been on sale for over four years and is set to receive an update to compete with new models from competitors. The Kiger, which has been around for two years, will also be upgraded to take on the competition in the SUV segment.
Reports suggest that Renault is also planning to bring a new Duster to the Indian market. The new Duster, based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s modular CMF-B platform, is expected to retain its design and stance. The company is also preparing to launch an affordable all-electric car, possibly an electric version of the Kwid, which will rival other electric vehicles in its segment.
The announcement of these new models demonstrates Renault’s efforts to address the evolving needs and demands of the Indian automobile market. The introduction of new models and updates to existing ones are expected to enhance Renault’s position in India and provide more options for Indian consumers.
