Rome – Italy shows great interest in joining the projects implemented by Morocco in the field of the development of renewable energies, underlined, Monday in Rome, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of his participation in the “Italy-Africa: A bridge for common growth” Summit, which is being held on January 28 and 29 in the Italian capital, Mr. Akhannouch noted that Italian interest for Moroccan renewable energy development projects is clearly expressed through all the meetings and interventions that marked this Summit.

According to the Head of Government, this interest is reflected in particular by Italy’s intention to create a training center in this promising field in Morocco.

Mr. Akhannouch indicated that his participation in this summit was an opportunity to discuss the great progress made by the Kingdom since 2009, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in terms of the development of sustainable energies, with the aim of reaching 52% of electricity produced from renewable energies by 2030.

This summit also made it possible, added the Head of Government, to shed light on the Moroccan green hydrogen production project, and the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project, which will connect 11 African countries with the aim of completing the connection. with Europe.

And to conclude that Morocco finds itself, today, at the heart of the project presented by Italy consisting of supporting and cooperating with African countries, through a partnership on an equal footing.
