Renewable strike: traffic will remain “very disrupted” on Wednesday at SNCF and RATP

by time news

Will the renewable strike take place? First element of response with the estimates of traffic disruptions for the day of Wednesday March 8 in the metros and trains. The RATP announces very disrupted traffic for the Paris metro and the RER, while the SNCF is also planning a “very severely disrupted” day.

Will March 8 be a “Black Wednesday”? The situation should be similar (as of Tuesday) with regard to the underground network, according to the management of the RATP, which however provides for an improvement for buses and trams, with almost normal traffic.

More accurate forecasts this Tuesday

No information has filtered on more precise estimates. The RATP only delivered the details for this Tuesday where two out of three trains during the day will run on line 4 of the Paris metro and traffic will be normal on lines 1 and 14 (automated). Line 6 will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with one train in three on average, as will line 12 – one train in four during off-peak hours. The other lines of the network will only be open during peak hours (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.), sometimes extended, and some of them will only run on certain sections.

The SNCF, like the RATP, will communicate more precise forecasts from tomorrow for the day of Wednesday. Both groups still recommend that travelers postpone their trips. In the two transport companies, all the unions have called for a renewable strike.
