Renfe increases the number of travelers by 25.5 percent from January to September 2023
Renfe has released the demand data recorded in the first nine months of 2023, a period in which it transported more than 386.4 million passengers, 25.5 percent compared to the same dates in 2022.

For Renfe, these data “represent a consolidation of the increases in services” recorded this year, with more than 78.4 million new customers compared to last year. Among the main reasons that have driven the increase in demand, we highlight “the multitude of destinations, the large number of frequencies, confidence in Renfe trains and Government initiatives such as Verano Joven and Free Passes for recurring Cercanas and Middle distance”.
Of the global data relating to travelers traveling on Renfe trains until September, 363.5 million correspond to Public Service Obligations (Cercanas, Media Distancia and Avant) and 22.9 million travelers used the AVE, Avlo, Alvia services. , Euromed and Intercity.
