Renfe, in collaboration with the organizers Al Andalus Innovation Venture, the innovation fair in Seville, has brought together on the same train a selection of emerging companies from different editions of Tren Lab, the operator’s open innovation program, and a large group of investors from the country’s entrepreneurial scene.

The investment train has brought together for three hours, on board one of the cars of a Renfe Madrid-Seville AVE, representatives of several emerging companies that have been part of the Renfe Ten Lab open innovation program with investors interested in entrepreneurship. Among the members of this program were I-motion Analytics, ADDvance Manufacturing Technologies, Visualfy and GreeMko, in addition to Wipass, one of the winners of the first Antena TrenLab Award.
During the journey, the different developments in which the participants are working have been exposed. In turn, those interested in supporting these projects have spoken with each of them to delve deeper into the idea of their new business approaches.
Tren Lab
This investment trip has served to publicize the proposals selected in the editions of the TrenLab program with which Renfe promotes R&D in the sector and seeks financing. Some of these companies have recently signed contracts with Renfe to implement their advances over the next two years. This collaboration allows Renfe to have solutions developed and validated quickly during the TrenLab acceleration period and their subsequent implementation in the business areas defined in the company.
The Tren Lab program reaches its fifth edition this year to promote collaboration between the Spanish open innovation ecosystem and the operator. On this occasion, the challenges that have been launched focus on training with virtual reality, industry 5.0, ecological transportation, fleet optimization, security, fleet optimization and metaverse.
