Renfe has rescheduled its offer in order to facilitate the mobility of its customers, as well as guarantee the reliability of the new schedules established, due to the improvement works scheduled by Adif in the province of Córdoba, on the high-speed line, from June 1 to September 30

These actions that Adif will carry out will entail changes in the schedules and slight increases in travel times in the Avant services that link Madrid with Ciudad Real and Puertollano, and with Toledo.

Adif is addressing the comprehensive renewal of the infrastructure of the Madrid-Andalusia High Speed line, with the aim of maintaining the reliability and safety standards of the last 30 years, with a set of actions that represent an investment of 680 million euros. .

The works are aimed at the general renovation of the infrastructure and its different elements; the renewal of diversions, sleepers and ballast; the signaling of the line, including the installation of ERTMS, the most advanced train command and control system in the world; the updating of the line’s telecommunications and energy facilities and the installation of LED-type lighting in all its tunnels.

The actions are carried out maintaining the railway service, during the maintenance band (the early morning hours without railway traffic, which are used for conservation work). The dimension and volume of some of the works requires, on some occasions, expanding the maintenance bands, temporarily suspending traffic on one of the roads, maintaining circulation on the other, or temporarily limiting speed in certain sections.

As a consequence of the actions planned by Adif in the province of Córdoba, Renfe has rescheduled, as of June 1, the schedules of all the High Speed and Long Distance services that connect Andalusia with the rest of Spain.

Once the works are finished, with a scheduled date of September 30, the usual hours and services will be restored. Any variation in the programming during these months will be derived from the development of these works in the infrastructure.

Despite the modifications derived from the improvement works carried out by Adif, Renfe maintains its Voluntary Commitment to Punctuality, the best in the world in the railway sector, for which 50% of the ticket will be returned on the AVE and Avant for delays of more than 15 minutes and 100% for more than 30 minutes.

Tickets and timetable information are now available through the usual channels: App, the website, 912 320 320, station ticket offices and travel agencies. Renfe will reinforce communication and information on the new schedules with an increase in customer service resources at all contact points.
