Renfe has signed a collaboration agreement with the Getafe Football Club by which it becomes the ‘Official Train’ of this Spanish First Division team throughout this season. The agreement between Renfe and the Getafe Football Club will be in force until on June 30, 2024, with the option to extend it with the agreement of both parties.

Following this collaboration agreement, the Madrid club will use the AVE and Long Distance trains for its sports trips as a sustainable transportation option, as do other First and Second Division football clubs, basketball clubs in the ACB league and the LEB Oro, and the men’s and women’s national teams of football, basketball, handball or rugby, among other sports.
Spanish Sports Train
The agreement signed with the Getafe Football Club is part of the Renfe ‘Spanish Sports Train’. This is a program through which we collaborate with sporting events and high-level clubs and federations. This initiative seeks to promote the use of the railway as a sustainable means of transportation among high-level athletes to participate in sports competitions in the national territory.
In addition to the agreements with teams and federations, Renfe trains are the official means of transport for competitions such as the Davis Cup Finals, recently held in Malaga, or the Spanish Futsal Cup, which will be held in March 2024.
