Renovated health post in Artezón benefits more than 1,200 inhabitants – Ministry of Public Health

In the town of Artezón in the canton of San Pedro de Pelileo (Tungurahua), the Minister of Public Health, José Ruales, went to the renovated health post that, prior to its reopening, functioned in the communal house of the sector; Now, with an investment of more than $200 thousand dollars, it is 100% enabled.

The communities of Inapi, Guadalupe, Pinge, Gamboa, Yataqui, Valle Hermoso, Artezón and Chambag are the direct beneficiaries of this health facility that is also part of the Ecuador Strategy Grows without Child Malnutrition through the recruitment/monitoring of women pregnant and healthy child control.

This work began in 2018 but was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2022 the work was resumed and after its total intervention in infrastructure in February 2023 it was delivered to the service of the community.

Currently, the health post has a supply of medicines that reaches 85% and a portfolio of services in general medicine, dentistry, vaccination, preparation, sampling, statistics, pharmacy, among others.

Likewise, it has trained and qualified professionals to provide comprehensive care. Additional medical personnel have been assigned and the hiring of a professional is planned to complete this program for the benefit of pregnant women and children under 2 years of age in the community.

This State Portfolio works to strengthen the health infrastructure of its establishments on a national scale. With this, it reaffirms its commitment to the health and well-being of the population of Ecuador.
