REO will invest 2.9 billion rubles in waste sorting

The Russian environmental operator (REO) will support two investment projects for waste processing in the Moscow region (MO), a representative of the REO told Vedomosti. According to him, the Supervisory Board approved the redemption of bonds of the Kombinat company and KPO Neva, a member of the Ecoline group. The securities will be issued by these companies to finance the construction of waste processing complexes, the coupon rate will be 3% per annum. The total investment in both projects, including REO funds, will amount to RUB 16 billion.

The Kombinat company was opened in 2005, since 2014 it has been operating the Aleksinsky quarry landfill for municipal solid waste (MSW), has a license for the collection and disposal of hazard class IV waste. Since 2018, it has been building a waste sorting complex in Klin near Moscow with a capacity of 950,000 tons of MSW per year. The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for December this year. In total, 8.8 billion rubles will be invested in the project. Of these, the funds of the REO will amount to 1.3 billion rubles, the company’s own funds – 1.52 billion rubles, the rest – a loan from PSB. The project will significantly increase the volume of MSW processing, which will be brought here from Moscow, the Klin District of the Moscow Region and neighboring regions.
