Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has restructured the board of directors of Meghna Pet Industries, a listed company in the food and ancillary sector of the capital market.

Recently the board of the company has been restructured. As part of that, four independent directors have been appointed in the company, according to BSEC sources.

The independent directors appointed by BSEC are Amlendu Mukherjee, former Additional Secretary, Banks and Financial Institutions Department, Ministry of Finance, Sheikh Mashrik Hasan, Associate Professor, Finance Department, Jagannath University, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Associate Professor, Accounting and Information Department, Dhaka University, and M. Nurul Alam, Chief Executive Officer, MNA Associates.

Meghna Pet is a company with a weak base in the capital market. For a long time the company has not been able to pay any kind of dividend to the investors. The production activities of the company have also been closed for a long time. In this situation, the stock market regulator BSEC has taken the initiative to activate the company by appointing four new independent directors. BSEC has also directed to appoint one of the newly appointed directors as chairman.
