Report in Iran: A member of the Revolutionary Guards was shot dead in Tehran

The Iranian News Agency reported this evening (Tuesday) that Revolutionary Guards officer Kasem Fatahallahi was shot to death outside his home in Tehran. According to the reports, anonymous assassins fired about four bullets that caused his death. The authorities in Iran define the incident as a “terrorist act”.

The event is taking place in the shadow of the third anniversary of the assassination of the former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdulahian, claimed earlier today that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the justice system are working to prosecute the perpetrators of the assassination and pledged to continue working for “the achievement of justice and the punishment of the perpetrators of the American assassination”.

About two months ago, a member of the Revolutionary Guards was killed in the city of Isfahan. According to the report based on the words of the governor of Isfahan province, the person who goes by the name Reza Dastani, was shot twice in the early hours of the morning. As a result, he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
