The Syrian Air Force reported tonight (Thursday-Friday) that it intercepted a number of missiles fired over the city of Damascus. According to the report, the local air force was called in to respond to an Israeli attack in the Syrian capital.
Shortly after reports of an attack on Syria, the Syrian army accused Israel of attacking Damascus. According to the Syrian army, Israel fired several missiles at the Damascus skies from the Golan Heights. Three Syrian soldiers were killed in the attack.
Last month, the Syrian Ministry of Defense claimed a number of missiles were fired at a number of targets in the area of the city of Misiaf and Hama district. They said five were killed in the attack and seven were injured, as well as property damage.
The Syrian news agency reported that a large amount of missiles were fired at the target, some of them hitting agricultural lands and causing damage. At the same time, Saudi media reported that the attack was aimed at an Iranian arms shipment at the port of Tartus, about 25 km from the border with Lebanon, which was designated for Hezbollah and the “Scientific Research Center” in the city of Misyaf.
