The news website Iran Intentional reported today (Saturday) that in Sweden indictments were filed against two citizens of the country, 42-year-old Fayman Kia and 35-year-old Fayam Kia, brothers born in Iran, for spying for Russia and its military intelligence for about a decade.

According to the report, the older brother worked with Sweden’s domestic intelligence agency for years and, according to the indictment, served as a double agent. The two were arrested in September and November 2021. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, no additional information was provided about the suspicions against them. The two have denied any crime attributed to them and face life in prison if convicted. In Sweden, this punishment is between 20-25 years in prison.
