Maccabi Haifa is in the middle of the race for the championship, when the greens have already secured first place at the end of the regular season. Meanwhile, the club continues to plan for next season, and at least according to reports coming from Serbia, are in the race to sign a new striker to the squad.

According to the report, Jean-Philippe Carasso, 25 years old from the Ivory Coast, who played for Saint-Etienne, is strongly in the register of both Maccabi Haifa and Red Star Belgrade. The Serbian “Republika” wrote: “Red Star wanted him already in January, but Saint-Etienne didn’t want to let one of their best players leave.”

Carasso’s contract will expire in June and he will be a free agent. According to the report, he arouses interest in a number of teams, when in the race to sign him, apart from Maccabi Haifa, there are also Dynamo Kyiv and Montpellier, but he is expected to refuse the Ukrainian option due to the state of war in the country.

Carasso is the second top scorer in the second division in France, with 13 goals in 23 games. The striker, who can also play on the wing, also added seven assists this season in the league.
