Alexander Nübel’s future seems to be becoming increasingly clear. The goalkeeper is not drawn back to FC Bayern, but to the Bundesliga.

Stuttgart.

A change from Alexander Nübel from soccer champion FC Bayern Munich to VfB Stuttgart is said to be becoming more and more likely, according to a report by “Bild”.

The loan of the 26-year-old goalkeeper is therefore about to be completed. The parties are said to have discussed an offer again and made adjustments. According to the report, Nübel could forgo salary himself.

Nübel has played for the French club AS Monaco in recent years. Stuttgart had already confirmed their interest in the goalkeeper a week ago. “Yes, we are in talks. But we are in very, very many talks and it is the case that we end up having more talks than contracts are then signed,” sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said.

He is looking for a solution that is “economically balanced and also helps immediately in the first step”. A first VfB offer for Nübel is said to have been rejected by FC Bayern. In view of Manuel Neuer’s injury, it is unclear with which goalkeeper the Munich team will start the new season. Nübel should have no future with the German industry leader. “We accepted his decision and if he finds a club, he can go,” said Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß. (dpa)
