FC Bayern is currently in the final preparations for the start of the season. But the future will soon be a big topic again.

On Sunday, FC Bayern will face VfL Wolfsburg. The German record champions will start the new Bundesliga season in the car city. The start will be accompanied by some unrest in Munich. Firstly, there is the issue of Leon Goretzka: the national player is to leave the club and plays hardly any role in the sport. Goretzka himself, however, wants to stay. The upheaval envisaged by CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and sports director Max Eberl will therefore probably be smaller than planned.

In addition, the contracts of some stars expire next summer. Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané and Alphonso Davies all only have contracts until 2025. Their future is currently still uncertain. Just like that of CEO Dreesen himself, as “Sport Bild” reports. Some of the club’s bigwigs say he does not represent Bayern’s interests enough. His calm and balanced manner makes him popular within the league, but in Munich they would like more directness.

Chief Financial Officer Michael Diederich is therefore already waiting for his chance should Dreesen lose his position in the summer of next year. However, a decision is expected within the next six months, otherwise the record champions may find themselves in a somewhat headless position in the spring of 2025.
