Report: Roman Abramovich is examining the possibility of acquiring a team in Turkey

by time news

Roman Abramovich’s episode does not seem to be over. Turkish media report that the Russian businessman, who was ousted by the management of the Premier League from Chelsea, may take over Guztapa from the Turkish Premier League, while he is trying to sell the Blues. As you may recall, the British government imposed sanctions on Abramovich who is close to Putin in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and as a result the senior English league management decided to take action and effectively take Chelsea’s management out of his hands.

At present, no sanctions have been imposed on Russia in Turkey, with reports of Abramovich’s interest in acquiring Guztape coming 48 hours after the billionaire’s £ 750m luxury yacht docked on the shores of the town of Marmaris.

Another Abramovich yacht arrived in Turkey and docked off the coast of Bodrum. Following the mooring, a number of spontaneous protests arose from Ukrainians present at the scene, who tried to interfere with the mooring of the yacht – without success.

Guztepa is in 18th place in the Turkish Premier League leading to the sub-league at the end of the season, six points away from a safe haven. The club was founded in 1925 and in its title cabinet has two Turkish Cups and one local Super Cup.
