Report: Russia has warned the United States that it will hit its allies in Syria

by time news

Russia continues to threaten the U.S., according to a report by the American news network CNN, the country warned the U.S. military earlier this week that it would carry out airstrikes against local U.S. fighters and its allies in southeastern Syria.

The warning led the U.S. to deter fighters from moving their positions, making sure there were no U.S. forces in the area. U.S. defense officials told CNN that local forces were forced to relocate following the threats.

These threats come against the backdrop of high tensions between Washington and Moscow over the war in Ukraine, as well as in the shadow of recent attacks, including the attack that shut down the airport in Damascus attributed to Israel.

CNN also reported that the Pentagon is trying to prevent an escalation in the face of the Russian army inside Syria as well, where the two countries have been operating in parallel for years. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying in the Russian media yesterday that Moscow and Washington are at a “very, very hot spot of conflict.” At the same time, the Russian embassy in Washington claimed that the US was spreading “lies” when it claimed that Russian forces had committed war crimes in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, British intelligence estimated today (Friday) that Russian forces will continue to try to occupy the Popasna axis in eastern Ukraine for the next 24 hours.
