According to a report, Bundesliga soccer team Werder Bremen is also looking at two big names with Werder’s past when looking for a successor to its sports director Frank Baumann.
The supervisory board wants to at least check whether Simon Rolfes from Bayer Leverkusen and Markus Krösche from Eintracht Frankfurt can imagine returning to Bremen next year, writes the multimedia portal “Deichstube” (Friday).
Both were once trained in Werder’s youth ranks. However, both work as sports managing director (Rolfes) and sports director (Krösche) at clubs that are currently much more successful and ambitious.
Former national player and Werder captain Frank Baumann will not extend his expiring contract after this season. The previous head of professional football, Clemens Fritz, is also a candidate for his successor. (dpa)
