The legend continues. After several weeks of quiet in the sector, Sky Sports reported tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed with Milan on a new contract for another season. According to the report, the striker will receive between one million and one and a half million euros in the coming season in a contract that will also include bonuses on goals and cooks.
Remembering after securing his team’s championship Zlatan said: “For six months I played with a tear in my knee ligament. I was only able to train 10 times during that time and barely slept because of the pain. I took painkillers every day for the period and never suffered like that on and off the field. “Something impossible and possible and there was always one thing in my head – to help my friends and the coach become Italian champions. I promised them that and today I have an ACL injury and another degree.”
Following the injury he had to undergo surgery which is estimated to put him off for another six months, which puts a big question mark over the continuation of the striker’s career, who will celebrate 41 soon. In the end it seems that out of respect, appreciation and contribution in the locker room, Milan decided to extend a contract for Ibrahimovic, who will not play at least in the first half of the season.
As you may recall, the huge Swedish striker arrived in Milan in the middle of the 2019/20 season after a year and a half at LA Galaxy from the MLS. Before that he played in a number of luxury clubs – Manchester United, PSG, Barcelona, Inter, Juventus, Ajax and of course in Milan from 2010 to 2012.
