Miss Universe 2021 was crowned in Eilat
In a huge television event, broadcast from Eilat to about 175 countries around the world, Miss Universe India’s representative was crowned Miss Universe 2021. After a two-week visit to Israel, including a week in Eilat during which 80 contestants from all over the world experienced Eilat in attractions and natural sites , The city of Eilat and the State of Israel won more than a billion mentions on social media and hundreds of millions of views from around the world during the events.
After the spectacular national costume contest, a qualifying contest in which 16 contestants were selected and the final event that was broadcast live, Hernaz Sando was crowned with the crown of Muwad’s iconic “Unity Power”, awarded to her by the outgoing Miss Universe – Andrea Maza.
In the national costume contest, which took place last Friday, the winner was announced – Maristella Okpala Miss Universe Nigeria. The outfit included clothing inspired by the African tribes and a huge shield which resembled a tribal mask and carried the Nigerian flag behind it.
The 70th Miss Universe pageant was broadcast live from Eilat under the direction of the legendary presenter – Steve Harvey, alongside the Emmy Award-winning TV man and style expert – Carson Cresley And Miss USA formerly Chesley Christ (“Extra”).
The broadcast, which lasted about three hours, included a huge stage and rare shows. One of the many highlights of the evening included the powerful performances of Grammy Award-winning artist and Israeli singer Noa Kirl. Also on stage, the song Hallelujah, singers Harel Skaat, Valerie Hamati and Narkis performed together.
