Only the chairman of the 16 RIC Kaloyan Sukhorukov was unanimously elected
Representatives of both wings in the DPS were present at the consultations for the election commissions for Plovdiv and the region under the regional governor Prof. Hristina Yancheva. There was no tension, but the parties failed to agree on the leadership positions and the final decision will be made by the CEC.
The GERB-SDS coalition proposed Kaloyan Sukhorukov, who has the experience of a series of local and national elections, as chairman of the 16 RIC in Plovdiv-city. His candidacy was unanimously accepted by the participants in the negotiations. But a consensus was not reached for the deputy head positions, the press service of the regional administration reported.
There are three candidacies for secretary in 16 RIC-Plovdiv city: “Continuing the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” nominated Angel Parvanovski for the post, “Vazrazhdane” nominated Bistra Zapryanova, DPS-Dogan proposed the candidacy of Monika Sally, and the wing of Delyan Peevski – Kristiyan Gyoshev .
Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” gave up seats in the leadership of 16 RIC-Plovdiv city.
There was no agreement for 17 RIC – Plovdiv region. Two candidacies were proposed for the chairmanship – Yanko Radunchev (GERB-SDS) and Petya Genova (“Vazrazhdane”).
There are also three contenders for the secretary position: Dobromir Alexov was proposed by “BSP for Bulgaria”, Stoyan Memtsov was nominated by “Continuing Change – Democratic Bulgaria” and Radina Petrova by DPS-Dogan. Murat Ferrad (DPS) and Yanko Trichkov (“There is such a people”) were the only candidates for vice-presidents.
The commissions in both constituencies are made up of 17 members, with six leading positions – chairman, four deputies and one secretary, and the remaining 11 are members. The mandatory condition of the law is that the members of the leadership are from different political forces.
According to the results of the last elections and based on the decision of the CEC, the seats are distributed as follows for both RICs – 6 seats for GERB-SDS, 3 each for PP-DB and “Vazrazhdane”, 2 each for DPS and “BSP for Bulgaria” – 2 and 1 for “There is such a people”.
