The Community of Madrid reiterates that Rubiales’ attitude is “undignified” and believes that the times are set by law
The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Pacohas crossed out the attitude of the now suspended as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubialesof “unpresentable and unworthy” and, regarding his possible resignation, he has urged to wait for the times established by law.
Asked by journalists about this issue, during a visit to the Puerta del Sol tourist office, he reiterated that “the important thing” is that the Women’s Soccer Team “has won the World Cup.”
“The president (Isabel Díaz Ayuso) said it yesterday, an unpresentable attitude and behavior cannot stain the absolutely impressive feat and worthy of going down in history that our players have made,” he stressed.
Regarding what the regional government expects from the resolution of the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD), De Paco recalled that the procedures are “underway” and will wait “for them to be resolved”. “The times are marked by the law and judicial procedures”, he has responded about a possible dismissal of Rubiales.
On the other hand, regarding the statements of the acting second vice president, Yolanda DiazOn the need to equalize the salaries of male and female players, the head of Sport has stressed that the steps towards equality “must come from everywhere”. In his view, this is a “logical” demand. “We live in a region that advocates freedom, which is also seeking equality between men and women,” he concluded.
